1. In the normal colonic biopsy specimens, two patients showed inappropriate staining with anti-B antibodies. 2. In colonic biopsy specimens from normal and colitic controls inappropriate staining is less evident. 3. Initial rectal biopsy and subsequent ileal and colonic biopsies at colonoscopy before treatment all showed similar features. 4. The patients were given supplementation for one month and colonic biopsy specimens were taken before and at the end of the trial. 5. Colonic biopsy specimens were taken before and at the end of the supplementation period. 6. A colonic mucosal biopsy obtained at endoscopic follow up from a non-inflammatory bowel disease patient with a colonic polyp was also positive for M paratuberculosis. |
