1. Invitro gastric antral biopsies were stimulated by vortex mixing and eicosanoid measurements determined by radioimmunoassay. 2. Endoscopic gastric antral biopsy specimens were also obtained for urease activity, culture, and histology. 3. A total of four gastric antral biopsy specimens were taken for histology, culture, and CLO test. 4. Three antral biopsy specimens were taken -- one each for culture, histology, and CLO test. 5. Another of the antral biopsy specimens was Gram stained and cultured. 6. All antral biopsy specimens were stained with haematoxylin and eosin to detect the presence and severity of gastric inflammation and to identify H pylori. 7. The antral biopsy specimens were fixed in formalin and processed routinely. |
