1. Backing up each camp here are armies of celebrities and a serious ad war, the latter partly fueled by Republicans, who clearly sense an opening. 2. ----- Five years ago, Garelick Farms and H.P. Hood engaged in an ad war about which dairy used fish oil as a supplement in its milk. 3. A look at those states, however, suggests other reasons Republicans might want to stay out of the ad wars. 4. But in the TV ad wars, dollars do seem to matter. 5. Now each side is accusing the other of having launched the negative ad war that is running on South Carolina television. 6. The ad war has already started. 7. The governor admitted that without such a cap, the candidates might have been drawn into a vitriolic TV ad war, with no limit on costs. 8. The television ad war has resembled that of a challenger versus an incumbent, with Davis filling the incumbent role. 9. This has turned the most competitive congressional races into multimillion-dollar ad wars even in nonpresidential years. 10. As the political ad war escalates in California, Gov. George W. Bush is under fire from his rival, Sen. John McCain, and from the Sierra Club. |
