1.   In view of its poor absorption and high local concentration, its site of action seems likely to be within the bowel wall.

2.   In an effort to reject the existence of halofantrine resistance some point to poor absorption of the drug, or to poor solubility.

3.   Continued use can disrupt sleep patterns, hinder academic performance and lead to bone disease from poor absorption of calcium.
