1. Beat with hand mixer until mixture resembles a somewhat smooth paste. 2. Cut in Margarine, using pastry blender or crisscrossing two knives, until mixture resembles fine crumbs. 3. Gradually stir in melted Margarine and mix until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 4. Place over boiling water and stir until the mixture resembles a custard. 5. Using a dull knife, whisk or potato masher, cut in butter and grated rinds until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 6. Arrange pieces of butter around flour mixture and process until mixture resembles coarse meal. 7. At low speed, blend in flour and salt until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 8. Blend in margarine until mixture resembles a rough meal. 9. Add butter and cut in with a pastry fork or fingers until mixture resembles a coarse meal. 10. Add the chilled butter pieces, and pulse until the mixture resembles grated cheese. |
