1.   Dissolve remaining wax with dry-cleaning fluid.

2.   For both problems, another treatment might be to dissolve the wax with paint thinner, then absorb it with the absorbent material.

3.   It may be necessary to use a solvent to dissolve the wax.

4.   Vinegar is also used to dissolve wax and control common household odors.

5.   Whether that works or not, you have to dissolve the wax before removing the rest.
