1. Ancho chile powder is a good variety to use here, or use a mixture of part ancho and part chipotle chiles. 2. Be sure to include the chipotle chiles, which lend the signature smoky flavor along with some heat. 3. Add the vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, molasses, chipotle chiles, orange peel, salt and pepper. 4. But the following chip dip is aggressively flavored with smoky-hot chipotle chiles. 5. Combine the chipotle chiles and water in a blender and puree. 6. Do not use dried chipotle chiles. 7. Drain the chipotle chiles, reserving the adobo sauce. 8. I use chipotle chiles for that added smoky taste in a constantly evolving recipe. 9. Local pumpkin took the place of black beans, duck subbed for chicken, chipotle chiles for poblanos. 10. Look for the canned chipotle chiles with other Mexican products in supermarkets. |
