11. At recent review two years after the onset of jaundice she remains well with a normal bilirubin concentration and slightly raised liver enzyme activities. 12. The diagnosis of PSC was established by standard criteria -- that is, by persistently abnormal liver enzyme activities, liver histology, and ERCP changes. 13. The enzyme activities were determined spectrophotometrically. 14. The angiotensin converting enzyme activity in serum was normal. 15. It has previously been shown that there is no acetyltransferase enzyme activity in the epithelial cell membrane. 16. Thus, enzyme substrates may have greater access to enzymes within the lysosomes resulting in increased pre Triton enzyme activities and decreased latency. 17. Morphological measurements and enzyme activities carried out on intestinal mucosa are another good method of assessing dietary nitrogen quality. 18. Some authors have emphasised the use of mucosal enzyme activities -- that is, those of disaccharidases and leucine aminopeptidase -- as indicators of dietary protein quality. 19. Two studies by Tulassay et al showed that prophylactic administration of somatostatin or octreotide reduced high pancreatic enzyme activities after ERCP. 20. Whereas biochemical studies can measure enzyme activities, immunohistochemistry can only provide information on enzyme protein, some of which may be inactive. |
