1.   To do so effectively requires a commitment from the teaching force - from headteacher to probationer.

2.   To do the work requires an enormous amount of effort beavering away among old records, checking, copying and encoding.

3.   Second, to do this requires adequate carriage space.

4.   Perversely, doing this will require the biggest and best of radio telescope arrays.

5.   Doing history does require an imaginative leap, and contact with real evidence from the past can often assist in this process.

6.   But adoption is expensive and doing it right requires a degree of consumer smarts.

7.   But doing so would require mustering some fire to break them from their recent funk.

8.   But doing that will require money, planning and vigorous leadership from the governor and the Legislature.
