Wheat futures rose on concern about sharp losses to spring wheat acreage and the growing signs of disease to the red winter wheat crop because of excessive rain. 4. A reduced estimate of U.S. wheat acreage helped in the price increase. 5. The government also reported a sharply lower spring wheat acreage estimates. 6. Wheat acreage has been reduced for three straight years because the low prices provide less incentive to growers. |
