1. This dilemma has become more acute now that wheat prices tend to behave unpredictably. 2. Wheat prices rallied as concerns spread that freezing cold and severe wind in the Plains states could damage the winter crop. 3. But if wheat prices fluctuate more widely than house prices, an investor who had no particular interest in either wheat or houses would not be indifferent between them. 4. And wheat prices still are in the tank. 5. Anticipated crop damage from sub-zero temperatures in the Plains boosted wheat futures prices. 6. At the Kansas City Board of Trade dry weather and no snow during last weekend sent U.S. wheat futures prices soaring most of the session. 7. Beans had been higher much of the session, but later fell in sympathy with wheat futures prices. 8. Both heating oil and wheat prices declined. 9. A late rally in corn futures also helped boost wheat prices in spillover support. 10. After a disappointing winter harvest last year, U.S. wheat prices are hovering above world levels, sending buyers to competitors such as Europe, Australia and Argentina. |
