1. Attach the vent cover to the tailpiece and apply roofing cement to the bottom of the flange before nailing it in place with roofing nails. 2. Drive in one or two roofing nails up near the top of the replacement shingle. 3. Drive roofing nails into the flange, and cover these with roofing cement. 4. Five galvanized roofing nails should be used for each shingle. 5. Nailers capable of driving galvanized roofing nails or wide-crown roofing staples are also available. 6. Or nail the flashing with roofing nails, and dab a bit of cement over each nail head. 7. Position the vent on the peak then fasten it down by driving gasketed roofing nails through the mounting flanges. 8. Secure it with gasketed roofing nails. 9. Secure it with roofing nails. 10. The boards can be cut to size by scoring and snapping, and can be nailed with roofing nails or screwed onto the studs. |
