1.   Neuropeptide Y has also been reported to increase substantially gastric acid and pancreatic exocrine secretion.

2.   In the case of pancreatic secretion, stimulation of bicarbonate but not protein output was observed.

3.   This apparently selective effect on alkaline pancreatic secretion is similar to the specific effect of intracerebroventricular neuropeptide Y on the biliary bicarbonate observed in these studies.
