1.   As a boy, it was the old pear tree on the west side of our front yard.

2.   On warm days, Tootie and I would set up housekeeping on a blanket spread under the old pear tree in my back yard.

3.   They favor the apple trees, which have grown too tall for efficient pruning, so are dense and hospitable, like the old pear tree.
