1.   A few chapters have already been written in this tale of crooked brokers, corrupt accountants, Internet touts and, unfortunately, defrauded investors.

2.   A federal judge in Mississippi dismissed claims that WorldCom defrauded investors.

3.   ADT charged that LEP Group defrauded investors by withholding information about looming losses from a series of risky investments.

4.   But Morris and the other executives buried the September Analysis, the prosecutor said, essentially defrauding the investors into sinking their money in an ill-fated savings bank.

5.   By the end of the day, at least three federal lawsuits seeking class action had been filed against the company claiming it defrauded investors by misreporting its earnings.

6.   Defense lawyer David Owen argued that prosecutors had not shown that his client intended to defraud his investors.

9.   In November the CFTC accused two Florida men and three companies they controlled with misleading and defrauding investors and acting as unregistered commodity trading advisers.

10.   In the trials, prosecutors said that he had used his company, Bennett Funding Group of Syracuse, to defraud unsuspecting investors, many of them elderly.
