11. The activity of anticolon antibody in the serum samples was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay with colon epithelial cells as reported previously. 12. The serum samples from patients with high cytotoxic activity were used for the subsequent ADCC assay. 13. In the following experiments, five or six serum samples were used unless indicated otherwise. 14. The colon antigen expression detected by anticolon antibody positive serum samples was examined in IFN- treated and untreated target cells. 15. Serum samples were obtained from healthy blood donors, patients with metastatic colorectal carcinoma without evidence of infection, and from patients with inflammatory bowel disease. 16. The present study was undertaken in rats to measure changes in lipid peroxides and antioxidants in serum samples and gastric mucosa after administration of indomethacin. 17. Gastric mucosal homogenates were prepared as described earlier, serum samples were collected, and the activities or the concentrations of antioxidants were measured by the methods described next. 18. Dilution curves of a serum sample containing high concentrations of pepsinogens were parallel to the standard curve. 19. Radioimmunoassay of coded serum samples was performed as described recently. 20. Serum samples were obtained routinely daily during the treatment in the intensive care unit. |
