11. All subjects in the study had antral gastritis. 12. It is now generally acknowledged that Helicobacter pylori infection is the major cause of antral gastritis. 13. The reduced colonisation rate of children compared with adults disappears when patients with primary antral gastritis are considered specifically. 14. The histology indicated chronic active antral gastritis in all patients. 15. Gastroscopy showed antral gastritis and biopsies showed helicobacter-like organisms, but no granulomas. 16. Gastroscopy was repeated the following year and she was found to have antral gastritis. |
