1.   They reared to an alarming angle, the tractor pointing to the roof, the wheels slipping in the juice cascading from the broken stalks.

2.   Even if three wheels are slipping, Benz says, the AAV will still keep moving.

3.   If a wheel slips, the traction control kicks in, braking that wheel and diverting torque to the wheels with grip.

4.   In a conventional car or truck, with either front or rear drive, when one wheel slips the other loses traction, too.

5.   Instead of just allowing torque to shift when a wheel slips, as in Quattro, Benz uses an electronic traction system to brake the slipping wheel.

7.   The Acura has something similar except that the driver can lock in rear-wheel power when the wheels are slipping.

8.   This means that, if three wheels are slipping and only one has the faintest hope of purchase, that wheel gets the torque to nudge you forward.

9.   When sensors determine that a wheel is slipping, a computer reduces the power and the transmission shifts up to eliminate the spin.

10.   When wheels slip causing one set of discs to speed up vs. the other, the silicone thickens instantly to provide a drive coupling.
