1.   Even a plain, cheapo warm white tube will give better results.

2.   Such a long tube gives sound waves lots of room to enlarge.

3.   The tube has given them a warm body in which to breed.

4.   On the other hand, fluorescent tubes would give less heat and could be sited much closer to the foliage with much better results.
