1.   It covered all land and air forces, but not paramilitary forces, on which the treaty framework provided only for an exchange of views to take place.

2.   And it means that the United States is counting on its ability to pressure Pakistan politically, rather than fitting it into a treaty framework.

3.   A Barak aide argued that in any event, the Palestinians would get more land as a result of a treaty framework than in yet another interim troop withdrawal.

4.   Diplomatic sources said the aim was to come up with a basic treaty framework by the end of the current Conference session.
