1.   Under the Captaincy of Fred Beadle the brigade took part in many competitions winning many trophies, individual as well as for team events.

2.   Against world-class opposition he came fourth in the pony team event at the Drumlanrig Castle Horse Driving Trials, again sponsored by BNFL.

3.   The team event was won by Crown House Engineering.

4.   But it was Tetbury Rugby Club who again won the team event.

5.   In another very close team event Wallasey just beat the Menai Straits one design club by a quarter point.

6.   Crook, with five runners in the first six finishers, easily won the team event.

7.   Kenji Ogiwara, who won the individual combined competition, led his country to victory in the team event.

8.   Upton AC won the team event and now go into joint top place with Buckley AA.

9.   Another strong sign of changing times is that the Kenyan women have won the team event at four of the last five World Cross Country Championships.
