1.   Preliminary investigation indicated that the smaller commuter train ran a red signal light, officials said.

2.   Smaller commuter planes would be required to have the heavier doors as well.

3.   They were also concerned that Northwest would shift their workload to smaller commuter jets flown by pilots who are paid much smaller salaries.

4.   And last month an airline passenger group said smaller commuter planes pose a greater risk to travelers than the bigger ATR models.

5.   Many of those planes are being bought by smaller commuter airlines who are trading in propeller-driven aircraft for jets.

6.   The Regional Airline Association, which represents smaller commuter carriers, also criticizes the plan.

7.   Another key point in the plan is to subject the smaller commuter airlines to the same level of safety scrutiny that the large airlines undergo.
