1.   Expectations that the current account deficit will grow this year because the ringgit will remain weak are not accurate, Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Thursday.

2.   He said another point of concern is that the ringgit may remain weak or gets weaker against the US dollar as Malaysian growth slows.

3.   Meanwhile, on the money market interest rates remained unchanged across the board as the ringgit remained steady.

4.   The ringgit also remained stable against the US dollar, yen and the Singapore dollar, but was higher against the Swiss franc and the German mark.
