1. As Long Island has often been likened in climate to Bordeaux, it has been heavily planted with the red grapes of Bordeaux. 2. As in Rioja, the principal red wine grape in Ribera is the tempranillo, although in Ribera it usually goes by the name tinto. 3. Aglianco is a red grape from the far south of Italy, where it makes an intense, tannic red wine. 10.
