1. As to the point of ownership of lorries, that would not in itself have provided a defence. 2. SIR -- Braun and Caporoso, Duffy, and Macdonald provide little defence against the argument that twin studies are misleading. 3. Even if it is feasible, there is no guarantee that this would provide a defence to an infringement action. 4. Ex turpi causa would not provide a defence. 5. Nor can they have been substantial enough to have provided defence against further attacks from the Huns or from the Alamans. 6. Arguments of this kind can provide effective defences to enforcement proceedings. 7. A limited defence is provided by the Obscene Publications Act for those defendants who act merely as innocent disseminators of obscene material. |
