1. Amongst the few powers which May not be so delegated is the power to dissolve Parliament. 2. And the opportunities to acquire it are infinite, for power is not limited. 3. And, of course, the motive power is inevitably steam but not, alas, genuine West Riding motive power. 4. Both powers in practice are as useful as a parachute in a space ship - reassuring but not very practical. 5. But the power to assassinate is not political power. 6. Corporate power is not merely a matter of the resources and Market share of formally independent entities. 7. Diagnosing power in organizations is not an exact science. 8. Even in old age, his powers of recall were astonishing. 9. Even then, there is no power to prohibit reporting of proceedings. |
