1. Be sure to measure the powdered gelatin as envelope contents vary. 2. Flavored gelatin, like Jell-O, is a mix of powdered gelatin, sugar or artificial sweetener, flavorings and colorings. 3. Most chefs use gelatin sheets, although plain powdered gelatin from the supermarket can be substituted. 4. Our adaptation calls for powdered gelatin, which is readily available in any grocery store. 5. Powdered unflavored gelatin is made from ground-up animal byproducts, including hooves and bones. 6. So collagen from the trimmings is processed, purified and filtered before being ground into powdered gelatin. 7. Squeeze out excess water from the gelatin sheets, and add them to the juice, or add all the softened powdered gelatin. |
