1.   At present, newcomers cannot apply for packing credit, while old customers cannot increase their packing credit limit.

2.   Chavalit Thanachanant, chairman of Bank of Asia, said the packing credit represents only one-fourth of the credit available to exporters.

3.   Exim Bank will use the packing credits to co-finance the packing credits with commercial banks.

4.   However, several bankers believe that the more relaxed packing credit contribution ratio will benefit only large companies such as Charoen Pokaphan group which have good credit ratings.

5.   Teeraparp suggested that the government increase the packing credit ratio for local manufacturers and exporters who increase the local content of their products.

6.   The first financing method is through packing credit, a form of export subsidy.

7.   The government should also review the packing credit system to facilitate both existing customers and newcomers.
