1. After removing the old wax, apply a new coat. 2. Cleaning may surprise you, removing all the dirt and old wax. 3. If the floor continues to appears dull, it may be necessary to strip off the old wax completely and apply a new coat. 4. Sanding will remove the old wax, but I would suggest that you remove as much wax as possible with paint thinner before sanding. 5. Scrape off all remnants of the old wax and replace with a new wax ring that you can purchase at any plumbing supply outlet. 6. Those preparations dissolve the old wax, remove dirt and leave a new coat of wax. 7. Wipe with the grain to remove all the old wax, and replace the pad as it becomes clogged with wax. |
