1.   At a ceremony in Phoenix, the former Arizona governor will sign an Environmental Impact Statement that will forever change the operations of Glen Canyon Dam.

2.   A proponent of instant background checks and child safety locks, Bush as governor has signed a pair of state laws authorizing Texas citizens to carry concealed weapons.

3.   A spokeswoman for Gov. George E. Pataki, who supported the measure when he was an Assemblyman, said the governor would sign the bill into law.

4.   But Senate President Pro Tem John Burton, D-San Francisco, the architect of the plan, said the Democratic governor will sign the bill.

5.   But supporters also put in hundreds of calls, and the governor signed the bill less than three hours after it hit his desk Friday.

6.   Dean Pagani, a spokesman for Rowland, said the governor would sign the measures, and leaders of both parties supported them.

7.   Finally, after some minutes and amidst the growing nervousness of the petitioner, the governor signed the pardon.

8.   However, even as the governor signed the measure, some school district officials still said they think their students are being treated unfairly.

9.   Hughes said that highway was renamed under legislation by local lawmakers that Texas governors always ceremonially sign.

10.   If the governor signs the bill, the concern of the parents will shift to where their children will live out their lives.
