1.   The southwest tower is a wonderful instance of late Gothic work.

2.   Early Gothic work in this field was unpretentious and overshadowed by ecclesiastical architecture.

3.   The quality of Gothic work here is as fine and abundant as in France.

4.   Much of the great Gothic work is on the narrow hill ridge on the north-west side of the river.
