1. The award consists of a programme of National Certificate modules and the ten core modules include the competences required for a career in the retail travel trade. 2. A series of complementary modules has been identified and these introduce more specialised areas and provide the opportunity to further expand the key skills embedded within the core modules. 3. In third and fourth years, the degree programmes progressively diverge from a set of core modules common to all. 4. Discussion of the design of the awards focused on the core skills modules, especially in the areas of numeracy and information technology. 5. The mandatory core skills modules and other modules have a similar structure to the level II qualification. 6. At level II, candidates will take four mandatory core skills modules, plus three modules making up a new National Certificate Cluster in design. 7. Similarly, the general SVQ at level III involves four mandatory core skills modules, plus the three modules making up a more advanced National Certificate Cluster. 8. Candidates for the level II award will take four mandatory core skills modules, plus one personal and interpersonal skills module from a choice of six. 9. At level III, the mandatory core skills modules follow a similar pattern to the level II award. |
