1.   A circuit tester should also be in every toolbox.

2.   But to be safe check the wires with a circuit tester.

3.   If the chimes remain silent, make a circuit test with the circuit tester.

4.   Remove the existing fixture then use a circuit tester to make sure the power is off.

5.   The circuit tester will not light if the transformer is not delivering the necessary power to the bell circuit.

6.   The circuit tester can also be used to check new wiring.

7.   To be safe check with a circuit tester.

8.   To make the safety check, touch one probe of the circuit tester to the bare black wires and the other probe to the bare white wires.

9.   To test the transformer, touch the probes of the circuit tester to the terminals on the transformer housing.

10.   Use a neon circuit tester to make sure that the power is off and that the wires are cold.
