1.   An anonymous poison-pen letter has left the United States waiting for a chief delegate at the United Nations.

2.   Among them were James C. Miller III, director of the Office of Management and Budget, and Jeane Kirkpatrick, chief U.S. delegate to the United Nations.

3.   At the same time he served as chief U.S. delegate to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna.

4.   Blue House officials said that the chief North Korean delegate, Kim Ryong Song, a Cabinet member, had delivered a message from the North Korean leader.

5.   After she became chief delegate to the United Nations, Ms. Kirkpatrick made Keyes the ambassador to the U.N. Economic and Social Council.

6.   But Madeleine K. Albright, the chief United States delegate, avoided characterizing the offer as a first step in ending sanctions.

7.   But the chief American delegate, Robert L. Gallucci, refused to describe the negotiations as deadlocked.

8.   Certainly Madeleine K. Albright, the chief U.S. delegate to the United Nations, betrayed no doubts last week as she argued for lifting the arms embargo.

9.   During a lunch last Friday, at least a half-dozen chief delegates to the Security Council asked that Annan stand ready to intercede.

10.   Evidence was also presented by Bill Richardson, former chief delegate to the United Nations, when he visited Afghanistan earlier this year.
