1.   Burundian radio said the victims belonged to both the majority Hutu and minority Tutsi ethnic groups.

2.   Locusts have invaded several areas of southern Burundi, destroying tea, corn, bananas, cassava and beans, Burundian radio reported.

3.   Gunfire was heard in the Hutu neighborhood of Kamenge in the north of the city, and Burundian radio reported grenade explosions in unspecified areas of the capital.

4.   Burundian radio reported that an ambush of a bus carrying civilians had left two people dead and another two injured.

5.   The office said a lone unidentified gunman carried out the attack before fleeing, however Burundian radio said it was not clear if one or several assailants were reponsible.
