1. Three of the five patients presented with fever and severe headaches. 2. Of these, two were negative and the other six patients showed granular cytoplasmic staining with perinuclear accentuation, but not nuclear staining and no filamentous staining. 3. None of the other patients had serious complications otherwise. 4. The other patients had a normal endoscopical appearance of the bulb. 5. The main epidemiological features of patients with reflux oesophagitis are shown in Table I. 6. In seven of the nine patients Cryptosporidium was identified adhering to the mucosa. 7. Giardia lamblia was identified in the mucosa in one patient but only Cryptosporidium was seen in the other patients. 8. Progression of the gastrinoma was found in only three of the five patients. |
