1.   Americast, a venture of Walt Disney Co. and four regional telephone companies, has experienced cutbacks but is rolling out service.

2.   And although the Baby Bells are considered laggards when it comes to offering integrated Internet access, all say they will roll out service in the coming months.

3.   A spokesman for BT, Tony Henderson, confirmed that the company had applied for a license, but said it had no immediate plans to roll out services.

4.   But unlike previous auctions, the winning bidders will not be free to roll out services as soon as they can build the networks.

5.   Now, the Los Angeles-based company plans to roll the service out nationwide by the end of the year.

6.   SBC says it will launch the self-installation kits in the Bay Area in the next few weeks, then roll the service out to other areas.

7.   Still, there are obstacles to overcome before service is rolled out by next year.

8.   The company had originally planned to roll out services by this fall, but that has been pushed back to sometime next year.

9.   The company plans to roll the service out internationally.

10.   The service was first rolled out in Detroit last year.
