1.   An increasing number of parishes, particularly in rural parts of the Midwest, have no resident priests.

2.   In addition, fewer men are being ordained, and more parishes are without a resident priest.

3.   The resident priests in the revolving cadre, removed from their parishes because of allegations of sexual abuse, have been convicted of no crimes.

4.   There are few resident priests and ministers, and worshipers often conduct their own services.
