2.   The strength of coupling between two papers is shown by the number of shared citations in the reference lists of these papers.

3.   Reference lists, figure legends and tables should all be on separate sheets, all of which should be double-spaced and numbered.

4.   Only papers published or in the press are numbered and included in the reference list.

5.   Text is not included in reference lists.

6.   The cited works, in the reference lists, will introduce the interested reader to the wider literature.

7.   The sensor pattern is compared with a reference list of patterns.
