1.   A U.N. officer warned that such an offensive could cause thousands of casualties.

2.   As a result, officials are now able to assess more accurately how much damage was caused by the Croatian offensive.

3.   But it was not clear how much damage had been caused by the military offensives.

4.   Gen. Hilmi Ozkok, the commander of the operation, said the main offensive had caused panic among the rebels.

5.   The offensive has caused heavy casualties.

6.   The Turkish government has grown increasingly uneasy about reports in the foreign media that the military offensive was causing civilian casualties and disrupting daily life.

7.   The offensive though has caused concern among NATO allies and particuarly the Atlantic alliance Secretary General Willy Claes.
