3.   U.S. President Bill Clinton is nominating career diplomat Richard Hecklinger to become ambassador to Thailand, presidential aides said Thursday.

4.   U.S. President Clinton said he will nominate career diplomat B. Lynn Pascoe as U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia, the U.S. Embassy said Thursday.

5.   It also nominated veteran diplomat Humayun Rasheed Chowdhury as the new speaker, subject to his election in the parliament.

6.   President Bill Clinton said Monday he would nominate career diplomat Donald Steinberg as ambassador to Angola.
