1.   Abnormal heat will persist from the southern Plains to the interior Gulf Coast states as sinking air currents continue to suppress clouds and rainfall.

2.   Ahead of the front, heat will persist over most of the Plains States.

3.   Exceptional heat will persist from Texas to the Gulf states.

4.   Extreme heat will persist in the southwest Plains.

5.   Heat will persist across the Southern tier of states.

6.   Heat will persist in much of the Plains and interior West.

7.   Heat will persist in southeastern Texas, but a cluster of clouds and showers will drift over parts of western Texas, where moist winds ascend the sloping terrain.

8.   Heat will persist in most of the Southwest, although a few showers will linger near the Mexican border.

9.   High heat will persist over interior valleys and the high deserts.

10.   Meanwhile, heat will persist over the southern Plains, with isolated thunderstorms bringing only brief, spotty relief.
