1. Faecal fat excretion was less in the patients. 2. Loperamide oxide did not affect faecal fat excretion but during treatment with this drug there was an inverse relationship between bile acid absorption and faecal fat excretion. 3. Intake of diary products was less in the patients and probably contributed to the normal faecal fat excretion. 4. Calcium increased faecal fat excretion in two of the three pairs of groups in which this was measured. |
