1. There was no significant difference in percentage of cells in S phase in the distal colon of rats in both diet groups. 2. Three rats in the low fibre diet group suffered from middle ear infections and were removed from the study. 3. As both were in the diet group, they continued in the study and subsequently had normal babies. 4. Despite this the median height velocity SD score was greater in the elemental diet group than in the steroid group. 5. The median increase in the steroid treated group was significantly greater than in the elemental diet group. 6. Similar changes did not occur in the elemental diet group. |
