1. Only two small colonic polyps were found in patients who had an upper gastrointestinal lesion. 2. One patient had several colonic polyps removed endoscopically two years earlier. 3. Colonoscopy was performed to remove the colonic polyps and determine disease extent. 4. The final diagnosis of the control patients was sporadic colonic polyps, diverticular disease, haemorrhoids, unexplained anaemia, carcinoma, and irritable bowel syndrome. 5. A colonic mucosal biopsy obtained at endoscopic follow up from a non-inflammatory bowel disease patient with a colonic polyp was also positive for M paratuberculosis. 6. Aptosyn is also being studied as a treatment for sporadic colonic adenomatous polyps, a nonhereditary condition that produces polyps identical to those in FAP patients. 7. Most are actually views of various cancers and colonic polyps. |
