Any rule or custom that helps destroy the myth that athletes must go to college before attempting professional athletics is worthy of immediate adoption. 3. Athletes go into slumps all the time. 4. Athletes are going to lose races. 5. A special athlete can go right from high school to the pros and be considered a superstar. 6. All athletes go through it. 7. But during that time, because of segregation, very few black athletes were going to ACC schools. 8. But when the Games start, a fortunate few athletes may well go on to become household names. 9. How are those athletes going to get from Queens to events all over this nutty region? 10. How many athletes have gone through something like this? |
