1.   Pay phones accept only francs.

2.   Today, French is spoken in Monaco, and while the Principality has its own currency, the French franc is also accepted.

3.   Starting at midnight on Sunday, shops will no longer accept francs, but people can continue to exchange them at banks and post offices.

4.   Until the conversion to the euro, French francs were widely accepted because of the large number of Comorians living in France.

5.   Sunday is the last day that the franc will be accepted as legal tender.
