1. Although many European consumers appear to be troubled by genetically modified foods, U.S. companies say American consumers are not alarmed. 2. At the moment, though, more than half the usage by European consumers appears to be targeted at American sites. 7. Brown said that European consumers were also attracted to stations that sell more than gasoline, creating pressure to upgrade stations. 8. But European consumers are likely to cut back sharply as well, especially if slowing economic growth pushes unemployment up. 9.
