1.   General Aideed has invited leaders from the warring clans to a meeting at his house, rebuilt after it was bombed flat by American aircraft last year.

2.   Heavy fighting is expected to break out as soon as the American troops pull out of the airport and port, both key territories for the warring clans.

3.   The mix of possible killers also includes bandits seeking money and land grabs, warring clans and drug dealers.

4.   There are no diametrically opposed governments seeking to spread their politics throughout the universe, no ancient feuds between warring clans.

5.   They have a new charter and are set to elect a president they hope will one day replace the nine-year chaos of warring clans.
