2.   As a northward-moving storm over the Atlantic Ocean intercepts the cold air, snow will develop in northern New England on Saturday night and Sunday.

3.   As warm air rises up and over a dome of cold air, snow will develop from northern Minnesota to northern Michigan on Thursday.

4.   As the chilly air ascends the sloping terrain of the northern Rockies, snow will develop across Wyoming and Montana.

5.   As winds begin to blow from the east, snow will develop along the Front Range and spread southward into the mountains of New Mexico.

6.   Friday night, light snow will develop across parts of the Northeast, with an inch or two possible, mainly from the mountains westward.

7.   Heavier snow will develop in northern New England on Friday night.

8.   Heavy snow will likely develop in the Sierra Nevada.

9.   Heavier snow will develop downwind of the lakes late on Sunday when colder air arriving from Canada crosses the waters.

10.   In the interior west, snow will develop along many of the western slopes as an increasingly moist flow develops.
